Presentation

14 日に自分の絵についてのプレゼンをする事になり、現在原稿を作ってます。当日は原稿無しで挑みますが時々カンニングすると思います。研究者時代に何度もプレゼンしたけど、研究内容よりpptのデザイン性を追求してました😅そんな訳でプレゼンは慣れてるので何とかなると思いますが英語がな〜

Now I’m making a manuscript because it was decided to give a presentation about my works on 14th. I’ll try it without manuscript on the day but bet I’ll steal a glance at it sometimes. When I was a researcher, gave a presentation many times although I didn’t pursued contents of research but a design of PowerPoint:p That’s why I’m used to a presentation so I can do that somehow but English…oh

Life in Berlin

ベルリン到着3日目です。セキュリティの問題でこのサイトの更新が出来なかったので少し間が空きました。制作に取り掛かりたいのですが肝心の木製パネルが手に入らず右往左往しております。明日こそは！

It passed three days since I arrived at Berlin. I couldn’t update this website for a while on account of a security’s problem. Now I’m in trouble to not get wooden panel for work, although I want to start drawing:( Tomorrow for sure!

Painting

絵を見てもらうと外部からの様々な意見を頂戴します。良くも悪くもです。それについて深く考え始めると描く手は止まるし、自分自身の絵に対する思いもブレたりします。自分自身をマネジメントする事は決して楽ではなく、そして描く事はどうしても孤独な作業です。それでも結局絵を描くのが好きだし、絵に向かうと安心します。常にブレすに己を客観視出来る絵描きになりたいものです。

Various people gave me some opinions with bad or good about my works while displaying. When I think about that deeply, I tend to suspend drawing and lose my way about direction of works. It’s by no means easy to manage myself, and drawing is surely solitary work. But I love drawing after all, and I’m relieved while facing paintings. I wanna be a painter of principle and having objectivity.

Size of works

日本画の小品制作の準備を始めました。が、ずっと大作を描いてたせいか思う様にラフがまとまらない。自分に適した絵のサイズを模索中。ただ、大きな絵の持つパワーに惹かれて水彩画から日本画に方向転換したので、大作が私の原点だとは思います。ひとまず小品を描いてみて適不適を判断してみます。

I started to prepare for drawing small sized work, but I couldn’t do that well even a draft because, probably, I kept drawing big sized ones. Now I’m under consideration that which size of work is suitable for me. The reason why I changed painting style from watercolor to Japanese style painting that I was drawn to big sized works which have huge power, and also it’s my origin. However, after finishing to draw a small sized work, I should judge my suitable size:)

Finish!!

Unknown Asia 終了しました。色々な方と知り合えて有意義な三日間になりました。その一方で、絵の配置の仕方、絵の統一感などが人目を惹く大事な要素だという事を知れて勉強になりました。それから、私の日本画を見たお客さんの方から『強さの中に優しさを感じる』と言ってもらえて感動しました。ずっと立っぱなしでめちゃ疲れたのでゆっくり休みます(-_-)zzz

Unknown Asia is over. They were meaningful days to be able to meet a lot of people. On the other side, I learned what’s the most impressive arrangement for works and unifying the theme of works would be important element to attract attention. I was moved by a comment from an observer who said I felt the gentleness and the strength from your Japanese style painting. I’ll take a rest for a while because of exhaustion 😴

AIR

Artist in Residence への参加が決まりました。場所はベルリンで1月から3月までの3ヶ月間。期間の最後にはグループ展にて絵が展示されます。色んな国を検討したけど中々難しくて、漸く受け入れてくれる所が決まって嬉しいです^ ^ちゃんと制作出来るかドキドキですが楽しんで来ようと思います！まずは英語の勉強からです^_^

It was decided that I’ll join the “Artist in Residence” at Berlin from January to March. In the end of the term, a group exhibition will be held there. I sought some worldwide residency programs which could accept me , but it was difficult due to over the application deadline or full. So I was very happy to find there at last 🙂 I wanna enjoy this experience! I have to learn English more, anyway:p

Roller

初めてローラーを使ってみました。普段は接着剤として膠を使うけど、付着が不安だったのでメディウムにしたらバッチリでした。めちゃ楽しかったので、この方法は多用しそう。

I tried using a paint roller for the first time . I used mat mediums instead of natural glues because I thought the adhesion of rock paints might decrease due to friction with roller. As a result it’d be fine. I must do this method a lot in future:)

New work

新しい作品の下地作りをひたすらしています。地道な細かい作業が続くので首凝りします。でもここを頑張ると後が楽なので頑張ります。

I desperately keep making the base of new painting. I’m suffering with stiff neck due to consecutive detailed work. However I make an effort because it’d become easy after this phase completes.

個展始まりました。場所柄、お客様はまばらですが、知人友人はもちろん、地元の方とかにも見に来てもらえて嬉しいです。暑さにへこたれず残り6日間頑張ります。

Second exhibition started. A number of visitors were by no means many but I was happy that not only my friends and acquaintances but also inhabitants living in Takamiya came to see. I’ll make an effort to endure the heat, remaining of 6 days:)
